The Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) that regulates nursing institutions does not accredit nursing education programs that are not located in Kentucky, but only approves and regulates nursing education programs within the state. Kentucky State offers different entry levels if you are looking to start a nursing program including LPN (Licensed Practitioner Nurse) and RN (Registered Nurse program). You can as well go beyond the entry level and start a Master’s Degree Nursing Leading to APRN Program, DNP/APRN Programs or a Post Master’s DNP Programs. One of the steps needed to be a licensed nurse practitioner is to pass the National Council Licensing Exam known as NCLEX.
