University of Delaware School of Nursing

The University of Delaware has its main campus in Newark, plus satellite locations in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown, and Lewes. Its nursing programs are accredited by CCNE.

The curriculum for the four-year BSN requires 122 credits for completion and aims to maximize clinical experiences. Unlike many traditional BSN programs which begin with two years of general education requirements, nursing students at UD begin their nursing courses as freshmen and start their clinical experiences in their sophomore year. The program culminates in a clinical immersion in the senior year which ensures graduates are fully prepared to enter the nursing workforce.

Several graduate programs are on offer including a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, three DNP pathways alongside three DNP concentrations, and a Ph.D. program that includes an accelerated BSN to Ph.D. track. The college does not currently offer a master’s program.
