There are several state and national organizations whose primary function is to mandate proper curriculum in the nursing field. Some nurses may be licensed in several different states under the Nurse Licensure Compact which the State of Arkansas is a member of. This is an organization that allows multi-state licensed nurses to practice in more than one state.
