Tennessee has a rich history that dates back millions of years. This history is recounted in Centennial Park located in the state's capital of Nashville. Today, the state has a population of well over six million people and boasts some of the most diverse topography and musicians of any state in the union. What's more, is that not only is the state's capital city Nashville considered Music City, USA, but is also one of the top cities in America for healthcare organizations including Hospital Corporation of America, Community Health Systems, HealthStream, and hundreds more. That's why it's no surprise there are numerous excellent nursing schools in Tennessee.

Nursing Education in Tennessee

When it comes to the educational options available throughout the state of Tennessee, there are several options to choose from; the most well-known being the University of Tennessee as well as Vanderbilt University. As with many of the other educational institutions throughout the country, many schools such as these offer different degree levels that include bachelor’s, Masters's, PhDs, and Doctoral degrees.

The state of Tennessee has many other universities and colleges to choose from other than the two previously mentioned. Nonetheless, the types of courses one takes will be determined by the selected degree program; each degree program is structured differently.

After nurses have completed their training and education, they will have ample opportunities for employment in Tennessee – an area projected to have a 20% increase by the year 2030. As such, also expected is that LPN and RN salaries will also be increasing at a high rate. This, combined with the state's 0% income rate, makes it an attractive place to live.

Potential job offers may be available at locations such as the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, and St. Jude's, as well as other healthcare facilities.
