Nevada State College School of Nursing
Sheltered by Mount Henderson and overlooking the Las Vegas valley, is the 500-acre campus of Nevada State College. This rapidly growing public college is home to approximately 4,200 students. The overriding aim of the nursing programs is to develop trusted, compassionate professionals who take a holistic approach to healthcare.
BSN applicants must first be admitted to Nevada State College as a pre-nursing major before applying to the School of Nursing. Once admitted, the college offers full-time BSN, part-time BSN and flexible online RN to BSN pathways. The nursing program has its accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in place.

UNLV is a public research university with approximately 25,000 undergraduate students and a further 4,000 plus graduate students. The college has been ranked at #1 for undergraduate diversity by the US News & World Report. Accreditation for the nursing program has been granted by CCNE.
Aspiring BSN applicants must first complete pre-requisite courses before being admitted for the intensive four-semester series of nursing classes. The nursing portion of the degree can be completed in a minimum of 16 months. The comprehensive and challenging curriculum highlights the critical importance of patient-centered care.
Graduates may go on to consider one of the two MSN concentrations offered by the school, Nurse Educator and Family Nurse Practitioner. Either of the concentrations can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis and are predominantly delivered online with some orientation sessions held on campus.
For post-master’s students, additional certification programs, DNP, and Ph.D. pathways are all within reach. The DNP suite of options includes a BSN to DNP plan with a Family Nurse Practitioner track, an MSN to DNP plan with an Advanced Practice track, and BSN to DNP and MSN to DNP Nurse Executive Tracks. For advanced nurses interested in a research-based terminal degree there is a DNP to Ph.D. extension option and also a standalone Ph.D. with a focus on Nursing Education.

University of Nevada Reno School of Nursing
The range of CCNE accredited nursing programs at the Orvis School of Nursing at UNR extends from first degree BSN pathways all the way to doctorate programs offering plenty of options to students interested in starting or continuing their nursing education.
For those interested in a first-degree option, the BSN major option admits up to 64 students twice each year. Candidates must be previously admitted to the University of Nevada – Reno before applying and being admitted to the nursing school for four semesters of study.
All RN to BSN courses is taught online with clinical elements taking place in the student’s local community. The online course format allows for flexibility around work and family while still offering frequent opportunities for collaboration and interaction with instructors and other students.
MSN students can select from five specializations: Clinical Nurse Leader; Nurse Educator; Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner. For students planning to transition to the doctoral level, an MSN to DNP and a BSN to DNP pathway represent the two possible routes. The coursework for the post-master’s curriculum is exclusively online and offers two specialization tracks while the BSN to DNP coursework is primarily online and offers three possible specialty tracks.
