Welcome to the blistering cold – at least in the wintertime! Located directly below Canada, North Dakota has a rich history that dates back to the days of Indian tribes surviving off the Dakota lands but also has a rich economy heavily fortified by agriculture, healthcare, and more. The estimated population stands around 750,000 plus, and the cost of living is one that can best be described as comfortable and affordable; in particular on a nurse's salary. Because the overall economy is so rich (regarding the amount of help needed) nurses can always count on getting work after finding nursing schools in North Dakota.

Nursing Education in North Dakota

Along with a wide selection of degree programs available, one of the first of many decisions the state will need to make is deciding what North Dakota University or College they will attend. Once this decision has been made, the student can then choose what the right degree program fit will be.

For example, the University of North Dakota offers several degree programs in the field of nursing with studies ranging from bachelor’s, Ph.D.’s, and Doctoral degrees taught in an online and physical classroom environment. More than not, many of these programs lend themselves to exploring the overall realm of medicine (as it pertains to a specified nursing profession) and in conjunction with learning about ethics and the field of medicine and practicing the varied skills in hands-on exercises.

Upon graduating from nursing school entry-level as well as returning nurses has many available options when it comes to finding a job as a healthcare professional. Aside from providing in-home care to those who are unable to be treated in the traditional setting of a hospital or doctor’s office, there are a ton of hospitals that are always in need of help from registered nurses, LPNs, as well as several other nursing professions.

Additionally, nurses can also lend a hand in a smaller setting such as a doctor's office or other health care facility. Just a couple of the most common hospitals throughout the state include Altru Hospital and MedCenter One Hospital.
